Privacy Policy

Effective September 3, 2026

Layle is designed to reveal private event locations only to authorized guests. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Who we are

Layle (“Layle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a social discovery and event-hosting service focused initially on Beirut, Lebanon. This policy applies to the Layle mobile application, website, and related services (the “Service”).

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, username, display name, profile image, home area, and confirmation that you are at least 18.
  • Social and event activity: connections, invitations, plans, join requests, host decisions, blocks, reports, saved events, and content you submit.
  • Event details: public event information and, when supplied by a host, exact coordinates, address, entry instructions, and host contact details.
  • Device and location information: approximate or precise location only when you grant permission and use a location-based feature; device tokens used to deliver notifications.
  • Technical information: app version, device type, timestamps, security logs, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the Service.
  • Website waitlist information: the current landing-page preview saves the email you enter locally in your browser and does not transmit it to Layle.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate users; create profiles; show relevant people, places, and events; process join requests; reveal event details to approved users; deliver notifications; prevent abuse; investigate reports; provide support; and improve the reliability and safety of the Service.

4. How event location privacy works

Public event listings use an area or neighborhood marker rather than an exact venue point. Exact location and entry details are available to the host and to accepted guests only while the event remains published and active. Access may end if a request is removed or cancelled, either person blocks the other, or the event ends. No online system can prevent an authorized recipient from copying or sharing information they can see, so hosts should share only what is necessary.

5. When we share information

We share profile and activity information with other users according to the feature and your relationship with them. Approved guests may receive event location and entry details from the host. We may also share information with infrastructure, authentication, database, notification, hosting, security, and support providers acting for us; when required by law; to protect a person’s safety or the Service; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale. We do not sell personal information.

6. Legal bases and consent

Where applicable, we process information to provide the Service under our agreement with you, for legitimate interests such as safety and fraud prevention, to comply with law, and with your consent—for example, before accessing device location or sending notifications where permission is required. You may withdraw device permissions in your operating-system settings.

7. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. Event access information may be removed after an event, subject to safety reports or legal preservation needs. Security audit records may be retained for up to 180 days. Account, report, and transaction records may be kept longer when necessary to protect users, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with law.

8. Security

We use access controls and technical safeguards intended to separate public event information from restricted location details. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

You may update certain profile information in the app, control location and notification permissions through your device, block or report users, and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or export of your personal information where provided by applicable law. Account deletion may be requested through the in-app support channel. We may verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information where legally permitted or required.

10. Adults only

Layle’s nightlife beta is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, please contact us through the in-app support channel.

11. International processing

Our providers may process information outside Lebanon. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised version, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, contact Layle through the support channel shown in the app. Before public launch, Layle will publish a dedicated privacy contact and any additional controller details required by applicable law.
